A new beginning

With tears in my eyes, I sit here and watch Barack Obama being sworn in as the new president of these United States of America. I cannot believe this day is here and I can't be any happier than I am.

The pride I feel at being an American today is something I have not felt for a long time. After 8 years of an administration that really wasn't for the people but for themselves, it will be nice to see an administration that might actually do something for us instead of to us. Obama has brought back that sense of hope. That sense that we can be better than we have been. America has lost its moral compass and I can only hope that Obama can set it straight. And I wonder can we finally achieve that perfect nation our founding fathers spoke of. Yeah, I know we probably won't but this is a great step forward and I don't think we will ever go back. And that fills my heart with joy.

It will be a long hard road for Obama because I fear that the mess left is far worse than anyone is telling us. If things are this bad now, can anyone imagine what they will find when the newbies take over. I shudder to think.

But we are all in this together and we must all take responsibilty. It won't be easy but I know that we will get throught it!

So today I watch, I pray, I hope, I dream, I cry that Obama is a great president for the U.S. Congratulations to our new president: Barack Hussein Obama!

queue the music. . . U2 "It's a Beautiful Day!" WOW JUST WOW!!!!
