The Journey Begins, Again

Nutrisystem is providing me the Nutrisystem food free of charge for my weight loss journey. The compensation received will never influence the content of my posts. No other form compensation has been offered or given.

Okay I was a bad bad girl during the holidays but didn't do too much damage. The worst thing is that I did not exercise but on our trip to South Carolina, I did do some walking and I guess that was good. But, on the other hand, I ate pork belly so it was a wash.

I think the important thing was that I tried to maintain my portions small. Now that didn't happen all the time but I tried. I have to be honest and say that I didn't always pick the healthiest option and when I made my own holiday meals, I used cream and butter. Yes, I did it and the food was fantastic.

But now I am back on the plan. Luckily, I got a new shipment of food right before we left to South Carolina. I also have gone back to the Nutrisystem Discussion Boards for information. The negative part of this program I am discovering is that sooner or later you start getting a little bored of the same foods. So I am hitting the discussion boards to see what others are doing.

People get darn creative with some of the food items. I think I am at a point where I need to find new ways of spicing up some of the food and trying new recipes. I also found out about some great low cal and diet foods that fit into the plan. The wealth of information there is unbelievable. Even if you aren't on the program, you can go check it out if you are on a diet because it actually helps. Thank goodness that many in the Nutrisystem community share their experiences. I have to say it helps. Plus it also helps to chat with people who are going through the same thing.

I am also back to exercising. The Wii Fit of course gave me lip the other day and reprimanded me for being MIA. Stupid Wii. So I started back on my Leslie Sansone Nutirusystem DVD which I love. I am shunning the Wii except to weigh in and do my body test. I want it to know I am tired of its attitude! I think once I get back in the groove of exercising 3 to 4 times a day, the plateau I hit will soon be gone and the weight will start coming off again.

I also have joined a group of cool ladies and we are in a weight loss support group online. I think this will help because we all post our stories and support each other. I realized that I needed to find people in the same place as me so I can talk to them and get encouragement. It also forces me to be accountable for the weight loss or weight gain. I think that is important at this point in the journey.

So there you have it. When we last left off, I was down 14 and am still there. I am stuck but at least I didn't gain 5 pounds or more. So that's a good thing. I am going to try for 1 pound next week so I can be down 15. I should be good because I have no trips planned or no special events etc. in the next few weeks so there should be NO EXCUSES for me going off the plan.

I am just hoping that the new recipes I find keep the NS meals interesting and it help me stay on the plan.

  4. What a blessing to be given the Nutrisystem food free. I cannot wait to be able to afford something like it, or Jenny Craig, or Weight Watchers. SOMETHING.

I tried the Wii Fit, and it never was a good enough or hard enough work out for me. I am back to old school work outs right now, plus walking. We'll see where that gets me.

Losing weight is so hard, but keeping it off is the hardest! I wish you so much luck in your weight loss journey. I hope to have success in mine as well

  6. RA RA RA!

Cheering for you. December / Holidays are times for indulging. The important thing is that you are conscious of the food, the eating, and the plan.

We take off the beaten tracks sometimes. Find you path again. Do yourself a favor and don't beat yourself up and re-center on the positive progression to change.

I salute your sensitivity to what you know!

    Happy new year!
