Nutrisystem is providing me the Nutrisystem food free of charge for my weight loss journey. The compensation received will never influence the content of my posts. No other form compensation has been offered or given.

Again, there is not much going on here. This week turned cold again. At least there was no snow but it got so cold. Just when I thought Spring might be coming, it wasn't. I am so over this stinking cold.

I am still trying to get back on the program and although I haven't gotten completely back, I am doing well. Because my scale sucks and I can't trust it and because the Wii is so inaccurate about my weight, I am not sure how much I lost this week. I suspect I am still at the same weight I was. I realized my scale was off when I went to the doctor's a few weeks back. I honestly need to go get a digital one but every time I go to the store, I forget.

But the other day I put on a pair of pants I hadn't worn in a long time and they were loose. That felt fantastic. The last time I had worn them, they were tight and uncomfortable. This time they fit perfectly and were loose. I was so happy. Another testament that the program works and that I am pretty good at maintaining the weight loss.

Wordless Wednesday ~ Come to the Darkside!

He isn't as menacing as the real Darth Vader but my Build-A-Bear Darth Vader is a lot cuter. This is my new toy. I love love love him!!!

Nothing Really Going On

I finally feel better. Last week's cold was horrible. I still have some stuffiness and a little crud but I am over the worst of it. The sun is shining again as well and this weekend when I picked up Tom at the Asheville Airport, it was 60 degrees! I couldn't believe it. It had been so long since I was in 60 degree weather.

I am excited because although it might be a few months, Spring is coming! I am already stating to plan my new garden. I am going to double the size of the garden just so I can have more space between the plants.

I realized one of my mistakes last year was to plant my tomato plants to close together and I didn't have enough support for them. They grew so big! I also want to make sure I plant only what I need and want to eat. No more experimenting.

Anyway, it is still too soon to actually be thinking about my garden but the last few days have gotten me excited about the coming Spring and Summer!!

I've been a bad bad girl

Nutrisystem is providing me the Nutrisystem food free of charge for my weight loss journey. The compensation received will never influence the content of my posts. No other form compensation has been offered or given.

Okay I have been very lax about posting about my weight loss and the Nutrisystem program. The reason has been that I have been so busy since Christmas and so bad since Christmas that there is nothing to tell.

Remember I took a break during the holidays because we traveled and it was the holidays. Then I was off to Ocean Isle Inn for a few days where I couldn't do my plan. When I got back from the beach I got sick and the diet was out the window since I had to eat different things. That lasted until I was off to Disney where I went way off because heck it's Disney! This week I caught a bad cold so I was just eating crackers and soup. BLAH I am so over crackers and soup. Although I have to say that Ritz crackers has a new flavor out: Brown Sugar Cinnamon. They are so good.

Anyway, I am starting to see the light with this nasty cold. And I am hoping to get back on the program this coming week. The good news is that even though I have been on and off the plan, I have not gained or lost weight. I have maintained my weight. Whew! It's been up and down a pound here a pound there but I won't really know until next week when I jump on the Wii again.

So there you have it. I have to get back because my program ends in April so I only have a few weeks to make my goal. Will I make it? I have no idea. I hope I do. But in the end, I have learned to eat better and hopefully will continue the weight loss although it will take longer than a few months. I just need to get back to a routine. The cold took its toll but it was so worth it going to Disney!! WOO!!!

Disney Social Media Moms Conference - Part 2

So you are back for more, right? Well here goes.

It rained all day Friday and that was okay because we were mostly indoors all day long listening to speakers and such. Friday we headed off to the Contemporary Hotel for breakfast and lunch and cool stuff.

I had breakfast with Nicole, who I adore. She is such a sweetheart and I love her daughter. Not only is Angelina the cutest thing but she is sassy. I found out her birthday is February 8 and I should have known she was an Aquarian because when Nicole writes about her antics, she totally reminds me of me when I was little. Also joining us were Connie from Princess Time Toys, who was so super duper nice. Kristen from Tinker Tell's Pixie Dust Express, Elizabeth from Party Planning Professor and Kristin from Our Ordinary Life who has 2 of the cutest little girls I have ever seen. It was fun.

We were then ushered into another conference room after breakfast. I sat with Melanie, Denisse, Stefanie from Mommy Musings and Paul and Lee from a Couple Dumb. I swear I am a good judge of character and when we sat down and were introduced to Paul and Lee, I immediately liked them. They were so open and friendly that I knew these were people I wanted to know better.

The MC's were the Twitter Sister who were funny as hell and kept things moving. We heard from Meg Crofton the head of Disney and then Maxine Clark the CEB of Build-A-Bear spoke. Now I know you all know about Build-A-Bear. I have always heard of it and always wanted to go but never have. Let me tell you that Maxine rocked the house. What a cool lady. She gave a wonderful heart felt speech and it was inspirational. She created and built this company and after listening to her, next time I see a Build-A-Bear store, I am so going in and getting one! Plus, she was probably the only other non-mom in the room!!

After Maxine spoke, one person at every table won a Build-A-Bear. Denise won the Ariel bear from our table. I bet her daughter was thrilled when she saw it!! Then we had Marissa Jaret Winokur speak to us. She is a Tony Award winning actress for Hairspray and she was also on Dancing with the Stars. After she spoke, Cinderella and Prince Charming came out because someone in the room was going to win a night in Cinderella's castle. I didn't win. Boo! That would have been awesome!! But some lucky lady did and I am sure it was a dream come true.

We then had a lunch break and I ended up having a Latina Power lunch with some wonderful women. Included, of course, was the Latina contingent but we also lunched with Lorraine and Christie from the The Blog Rollers and Laura Spencer from Disney. It was fantastic and we are in the process of planning some cool stuff.

After lunch it was back to hear more speakers. We first heard from Kathy Ireland, yes the Kathy Ireland and let me tell you that woman looks fantastic! Then we heard from Chris Brogan. Okay, I also had no idea who he was either. But again, I heard he is someone you need to know about if you are in social media. I was actually speaking to him on a break and had no idea he was our speaker. DOH! Yes, folks, I am clueless.

Chris was actually hilarious and casual and in between his jokes and stories, he gave some valuable info. I have to admit he made me laugh quite a few times. And I am going to have to read his book Trust Agents because I think it's probably something I need to read. He was a great speaker for a social media conference.

We had another break were I finally got to see and talk to Christina from Cutest Kid Ever. I met her in Asheville and she is great! I met James from James Andrews who I had tweeted with a while ago about restaurants in Santa Fe. He is a sweetheart. I also met Connie from Brain Foggles who I always tweet with. I saw Felicia from Go Graham Go. I had met her in Asheville as well. Jerri Ann from Mom-E-Centric. I also met The Angel Forever, Val from Mom Knows it All, Bay from The Queen Mother Blog, Naomi from Superdumb Supervillian, Janet from @janetandmaya, what a sweetheart Janet is and Maya is a doll. I know her because she enters my giveaways at The Art of Random Willynillyness! Love that!

The finale included a nice little cocktail party with some nibbles and drinks! YAY! And they had a stand up comedienne, Mary Ellen Hooper on stage. OMG she was so funny. I loved her. She made me crack up. Visit her site and if she is ever anywhere near your town, go see her. She also blogs at Stinky Flowers. I have to say that Disney knows how to do it up right. We all got some cute pink fleece jackets and at the end of the conference we all got a gift to take home aside from the bags we received the first day. I won a Mickey doll! I was so excited since I love plush dolls!! Then I headed back to the hotel and got to talk with Amy a little bit. She was one of the coordinators and I actually was invited by her. I am so glad I was because it was so much fun.

Back at the hotel, I rested a little but then we were off to Hollywood Studios for our final dinner and Toy Story dance Party. Since it rained we all got moved inside to a restaurant in the park and it was great. I was hanging out with Melissa, Kim, Sandy from Organize with Sandy, Zippy and Shannon. Again, the food was plentiful and I stuffed my gob once again. Hot dogs, pasta salad, regular salad, mac and cheese and a cupcake! Oh yeah and beer.

I also have to thank Melissa for urging me to get up and dance something I rarely do nowadays but we had a blast!! I forgot how much I love dancing. So after dinner and some dancing, we headed off to the new Toy Story Mania ride at Hollywood Studios. OMG this is one fantastic ride. It's a 3-D arcade type ride where you get to shoot at targets and rack up points. I was sitting with Melissa and she beat my score but we beat Zippy and Shannon! This ride was even better than Buzz Lightyear. I know Tom would have loved it.

But all things must come to an end so we all headed back to the bus but before that we stopped to get some Bailey's coffee. There we met Pedro who works for Disney. He was a cutie. I actually thought he was someones son. Let's face it folks, I could have been his mother and he was probably almost 30. I tell you, it's sad when anyone under 30 can be your child. But he was very nice and we chatted with him at the park and the bus ride back to the hotel. I left the girls at the hotel to go get some sleep and finish packing. They went upstairs to continue the party. But I had to be ready and out the door by 7:30am and I had to find a way to jam everything I got at the conference into my already stuffed suitcase. I did it.

That was the end of my Disney adventure but as always, I always seem to have random adventures where I go so yes, the story continues! The Disney Magical Express picked us up in front of the hotel 3 hours prior to the flight. I was so glad to see that Nicole was there with her hubby and Angelina. I got to talk to the sassy girl and then was able to have some time to talk to Nicole on the bus for a while. I really like her and I know we will be friends for a long time. Sometimes you just click with people and like I said in the other post, it's fate when the first person you see at 2 conferences is the same person.

When I got to the airport the line was huge so they said go outside and do the curbside check in. So I go out there and I was told that I needed to go indoors. I knew that was the start of a very long day. I had checked all flights before I left the hotel but when I got to the airport I was told my Atlanta to Asheville flight was cancelled. So I smiled and asked what can you do for me. I was told that they could send me to Charlotte. So I asked then to Asheville right? Nope just Charlotte. WTH? I told her I needed to get to Asheville not Charlotte. SO then I was given the option of flying to Detroit, spend the night on my dime and then fly the next day to Asheville. WTH? So I said can I get to Atlanta and was told yes, so I decided to take my chances and get to Atlanta and see if I could catch a flight on standby.

Oh the hell that is flying. I am so over it. I hate it and it sucks but what can you do. So the line for security was super duper long and willy nilly. I got through although the metal detector went off wen I went through because I have a little metal wallet I use. No one stopped me because the security checker was talking to her friend. So I walked right through. Thank gos I am not some wack job. (no comments from the peanut gallery).

So we board the flight on time and we all get settled and then after 20 minutes of us sitting there waiting to take off we are told we are waiting for other passengers and oh yeah a flight crew. WTH? So we wait then another 15 minutes pass and we are told that guess what folks, someone forgot to tell the flight crew they had a flight and they are still at the hotel but they did talk to them and they are on the way in? WTH? Now I applaud Delta for their honesty but WTF? Someone forgot to get a flight crew? So then we are all told we must get off the plane and wait. While I appreciate that, why would you board the flight if you have no idea if you have a freaking pilot to fly the plane.

So we all take all our crap off and sit outside for another 25 minutes until the pilots show up. Luckily, the Orlando airport has Wi-fi. After the pilots arrive, we are herded like cattle back on the flight and are finally on the way to Atlanta. I was on standby for a 2:00pm flight and I was going to miss it. Once at the Atlanta airport I was told to go to some gate. So I go and wait. The 2:00pm flight was kicked back to 3:30. Then the 3:30 flight was kicked back to 4:30 and we were sent to gate D1. Of course, we were at the farthest possible gate so I had to drag all my crap miles to the other gate. Then the 4:30 flight was changed to 5:30. By this time, if I didn't catch this flight I would have to wait until 9:30pm and see if I got onto that one.

While sitting at the gate, a soldier came by and sat next to me and we chatted. He actually had a more hellish story. He had started out in Arkansas and had been at the Atlanta airport since the day before. He and a buddy wanted to drive home but they would not change their orders so if he did drive back not only would he have to pay for the car but for the leg of the flight he didn't use. I was like WTF? These guys put their life on the line for this country and we nickel and dime them while we give non-military companies billions of dollars. Whatever. Don't worry, I won't go on a rant.

But the cool thing besides him giving me gummy bears was that in our conversation, I asked if he lived in Asheville and she said no he lived 40 minutes west of Asheville and I was like OMG where? It turned out he lived in Canton and was probably one of the very few people I meet that knew Sylva, where I live. So we chatted some more. Then he was boarded on the flight. I was worried because there were tons of standbys that had been there since the day before. I spoke to another lady who had slept in the airport because Delta would give her nothing since this was a weather problem. Can I go on a mini-rant and just say Delta sucks big hairy balls?

So anyway, I almost cried when I heard them say Gonzalez because I had made it onto the flight. I finally got into the seat and shoved all my crap under the seat since those puddle jumpers have no space. The woman sitting beside me was sleeping but then we ended up chatting. She had been there since the night before trying to get a flight back. With more chatting I learned that Trisha had actually flown in from Santo Domingo after 2 weeks in Haiti. She was a nurse who worked with Doctors without Borders.

Commercial Break here: Okay, if you give money to non-profits, consider Doctor without Borders. After seeing some news stories on them, checking out their website and leaning about them, I think they do some great stuff all over the world. Done

So Trisha was telling me about her work in Haiti and the conditions. I tell you that I was sad the flight was only 40 minutes because she was so interesting and nice. And the stories she told were sad but I have to applaud her and anyone who does this type of work. It takes a special person to give up their life to go help others. It was a nice end to a long, frustrating day. And I realized that I should stop being a whiny baby and be thankful for all I have. Okay, I am on the edge of singing Kumbaya and holding hands but it's true. Sometimes my small black withered heart beats. LOL

Guess what, the story continues! Oh you knew it would. We finally make it to Asheville and it is not snowing but it was 25 degrees and dark. I was freaked out because I had to decide whether to try and drive home or stay in Asheville. I saw the Sgt. by the baggage claim so I asked his father in law how the roads were from Canton and he said that although it had snowed the day before, the roads were dry and clear. When I got my bags and went out to find the car, it was icy and scary. Tom had left that same day so he drove to the airport parked the car so I could take it home and then pick him up at the airport.

I was so scared getting out of the parking because it was sheet of ice but I made it. When I paid I was chatting with the man in the booth and he told me the interstate was clear but he couldn't be sure of the smaller roads. Luckily, the interstate goes right to Sylva. So I made the decision to get on the highway and drive home at 8:00pm at night. It was scary and I was driving like an old lady but I made it home in one piece.

It was good to be home especially since I had a scratchy throat. Sunday I slept in to about 8:30am until the cats went crazy outside the door and woke me up. But since I had woken up at 6:00am for 4 days straight, I was glad to sleep until 8:30am. I woke up sick though. I have a cough and do not feel well but at least I am home. It snowed Sunday and it is supposed to snow more. I am so over the freaking snow. I can't wait until Spring.

So this ends my adventure. I probably won't blog too much this week as I am going to try and get rid of this crud. But I knew if I didn't tell my story now and waited, it would be a bad thing.

I want to thank Amy Lupold Blair with Resourceful Mommy Media (for the invite). Also thanks to the other coordinators of this great event Janice & Susan from 5 Minutes for Mom, Jennifer James with Mom Bloggers Club, & Maria Bailey with Mom Select/Mom TV. Thanks to Leanne Jakubowski and Laura Spencer from Disney. These ladies made it possible for all of us to experience a little Disney Magic this winter.

Disclosure: I paid my own way to the conference and for the conference. As part of the conference, I received complementary items, special discounts, and other benefits.

Ummmm, Nevermind

I blame it on the Tylenol PM. Maybe I should stick to the recommended amount.

Disney Social Media Moms Conference - Part One

Okay, this will be a super duper long post. After writing it, I decided to split it into 2 posts because it was way too long. See how nice I am? Like I did for my other conference post, I warn my regular readers that you will wonder why I am referencing all these people etc. But these are people I have met online and it is always so nice to meet them in real life. I know I will have way too many details that might bore my regular readers and then my non-regular readers might say why the heck does she write so much but that's how I roll.

I had a fantastic time and I am so glad I was able to go. Again, I thank Tom and my sister for making it possible. You all know I am a Disney fiend and to be able to go to Disney on a special trip and be treated like royalty was a once in a lifetime experience. Disney always knows how to do it up right.

So as usual, I will write every single thing I remember and this is why my blog posts are always so long! I apologize in advance to all the people I will forget meeting at the conference because my mind is like a sieve and while some things stay in my head many just fall out into the air.

The morning started early and sort of snowy. Luckily, Tom had decided that he would drive me down to the airport. I never would have driven down myself in that weather, even in Tom's car. I hate driving in any weather except rain. The night before I was worried it would snow and I would be stuck here. But although the drive started out a little iffy once we hit Asheville, the weather was clear and I knew that I was going to make it out safely. The trip from Asheville to Atlanta was uneventful. I had stocked up on my trashy celebrity magazines and they kept me entertained for the 40 minute flight and then the 2 hours spent at the Atlanta airport. I once again have to stress how much I hate flying. I always feel like I am in a freaking cattle wagon. The seats get smaller, there is no leg space and it is just unpleasant.

The trip from Atlanta to Orlando was uneventful as well. I can't even remember who I sat next to. I was too engrossed in the lives of the rich and famous, I guess. Once at the Orlando airport it was easy to get my luggage and get on the Disney Magical Express. Free transportation to and from Disney Resorts. That so rocks!!

I can't tell you the excitement I felt when I saw all the Disney signs. I swear it was like being a little kid all over again. I remember when we were small and used to go to Disneyland, we would sit in the car and from the freeway we could see the Matterhorn Mountain and we would squeal with delight every time we saw it. I felt like that when I saw the Magic Kingdom sign. I didn't squeal with delight because that would have been too weird. But you know what I mean.

Anyway, I had never stayed at the Polynesian resort since that is one of the Deluxe Resorts and is pricey. So it was nice to be able to stay there. So I get off the bus and the first person I see is Nicole from Pink & Posh. (yes, I stole this picture off her site because I didn't get one of her in person - DOH) I swear I almost fell off the steps because when I went to my first blogger conference in Asheville last August, she was the first person I saw when I got there. So it was fitting she was the first person I saw this time. I knew then, that it was going to be a good time at Disney. It was fate! After hugs and greetings, I had to run in and get my room. After registering which was easy peasy, I was off to the hospitality suite to pick up all the info I needed.

It was great. In the suite was Amy from Resourceful Mommy. If you remember from the Asheville Conference I attended. I went to dinner with Amy because she was a guest speaker. I also have to say that she is one of my favorite peeps. Not only did she create Twitter parties (which I love) but she does these wonderful community Twitter parties to showcase bloggers. I was one of the first blogs that got showcased and I am always thankful for that. So it was nice to see her and get a hug. I got all my credentials and info and then they handed us a huge goody bag stuffed with Disney swag. And you guys know I love swag and free stuff. WOO!

I finally dragged all my crap to my room which was perfectly lovely. And since I posted a video here, I won't go into many details. But I had arrived around pretty late and had to freshen up and get ready in 10 minutes to get on the bus for our first event. So I changed and threw on some mascara and ran down to catch the bus.

Downstairs I saw Kim from Crafty Mama of 4. I had met her at the Type-A-Mom conference in Asheville. With her was Zippy from Champagne Living, Melissa and Daniel from Consumer Queen , Danielle from Extraordinary Mom and Shannon from Coupon Princess. I also got to hang out with Tamara from MomRn who I had met at the Asheville conference as well and is one of the sweetest ladies ever!

We were bussed to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Now I had never been there when we visited Disney because we aren't sports people but it is a huge complex and if you are a sports fiend, this is one place you have to visit when visiting Disney. Can I also tell you that it was wickedly cold in Florida? We were freezing. But once inside we were a mix of bloggers and press people. They had drinks and popcorn while we waited to be ushered into a presentation of the new and cool things that are going on at Disney. The presentation was actually quite interesting. All the Disney big wigs were there and they went through different changes and new things that will be happening.

What I loved the most was that they were going to add Princess villages at the Magic Kingdom. How cool is that? I know I would go visit them. The other thing that caught my interest was that they are going to be offering Disney Cruises to Alaska (hint, hint Tom). I mean how cool would it be to go on an Alaskan cruise with a Disney twist?

After the presentation, we were lead into a huge area where they had set out a wonderful spread. It was some great junk food. Hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, BBQ chicken and anything else you could imagine. I totally fell off the Nutrisystem wagon and stuffed my face. The best thing though was they had a table full of cotton candy and I stuffed my gob full of it. There is NOTHING like cotton candy.

At the dinner, I met more great people including one of the founders of the Latinos in Social Media (Latism) group I belong too. Ana from Premier Social Media was there and I got to give her a huge hug and meet her three little boys who are so adorable and so well behaved!!! I saw Amy again and so many others but I can't remember everyone! But we had a great time. Kim suggested we go to Downtown Disney for some shopping and I was all over that.

So me, Kim, Zippy, Melissa and Tamara headed to Downtown Disney. It was FREEZING cold but we had fun doing a little shopping. I bought a spoon rest because I broke one I had. We also were acting silly and took pictures at the Pooh store. Can I tell you I love the Pooh store? We headed back and I was pooped. It was nice to be out of the cold. I honestly couldn't believe how cold it was in Florida. BRR Once I got back to the hotel, I took a shower, checked the internets and watched a little TV then I passed out cold until the wake up call the next morning!!

We had to get up wickedly early on Thursday to head out to Epcot. We had a breakfast scheduled at The American Adventure with Guy Kawasaki. We arrived to a great set-up for breakfast. It is really cool to have events in the attractions themselves. I love that. Breakfast was tasty. I finally saw my Ocean Isle navigator Maricris from Zen Mama Adventures. If you remember we rode together to the Ocean Isle Inn last month and had a blast. I also saw the rest of the Ocean Isle gals: Jen from One Moms World, Malise from Carolina Mama and Molly from MyGOMOM.

Before Guy started speaking I also got to meet the Latina contingent present at the Disney event. Woo! Mi hermanas. I had met Ana the night before and I had met Melanie from Modern Mami at the Type-A-Mom conference. But that morning I finally met Mariana from Riding with No Hands. Jeanette from Todo Bebe and can I tell you that Jeanette is gorgeous and is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. I also met Denisse from the Coupon Chica and Daisy from Dr. Mommy.

Okay, I am going to be totally honest here but I wasn't sure who Guy was. I knew he founded Alltop and was hugely popular with people who I spoke to about him. He is what I would call a social media guru. But let's face it folks, I was clueless when I started my blogs and joined Twitter and I am still pretty much clueless. So I wasn't sure what to expect. What I didn't expect was that Guy looked like my ex-brother in law, Joji. He is an ex but he is still part of the family! Anyway, it was weird. I was sitting there listening and I kept thinking wow he looks like Joji! Now am I crazy or can they be brothers? Now Joji is probably a decade or more older than Guy and he has gray hair now but in my demented little head, they look alike. and even more so when Joji was as young as Guy. I even did a side by side pic for you all to see. What do think? Lookalikes or is Carolyn just crazy? (I already know what some of you will say, so don't say it) But I think it's the smile.

But, I digress. I have to say that I actually learned a lot from Guy's presentation. It also confirmed that I am still pretty clueless but actually do some things that are good like engage people on Twitter and just be myself. I also learned about new sites I never heard of to check out like Objective Marketer. But I know you non-social media readers are like WTH is she talking about so I will keep it short and sweet. In the end, let's just say that this was a valuable session for people who do use social media like me.

After our breakfast, we walked over (in the cold) to Britain. No not the real England but the one in Epcot. We were ushered into a hall where they had set up a ceremony to honor families who did some wonderful volunteer stuff this year and they were being honored. That was so cool. And this goes hand in hand with Disney's program "Give A Day, Get A Day" promotion. Basically you volunteer somewhere in your community and then you can get a free Disney pass. So get out there and volunteer.

It was nice. I met Carter Oosterhouse who is totally cute in person. I had to be a dork and get a picture. I know, I know, how tacky Carolyn. Sue me! They had other celebrities there like Ty Pennington from Extreme Makeover and I heard some Food Network stars were there. Now you all know I am all about Food Network but I will be honest and say that after the ceremony, I took off with Melanie to the Magic Kingdom because I knew that was the only free time I would have. So I missed the Food Network peeps. I didn't hear Guy Fieri was there so I felt better. Because you all know of my love for Guy!

Melanie offered to have me hang out with her and her family but I felt weird doing that plus I knew there were several things I had to do and most people aren't into them. My first stop was the Hall of Presidents. Yes, the Hall of freaking Presidents. I love it. I love anything American History and I also wanted to see the new Obama robot because you all know I am a fan of the president. I couldn't do a lot of rides but I was able to do the classics: Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Carousel of Progress and, of course, the Pirates of the Caribbean. *sigh* If only Johnny Depp had been there! I also went on the Buzz Lightyear ride twice thanks to the cool Media Fast Pass we were all given. OMG it was great. This thing trumps the Fast Pass and everything else. You get on right away. I can't image Disney without it.

I had my great Carolina walking shoes on but I forgot to double sock so my feet started hurting so I walked into a store and bought the MOST expensive socks I will ever buy. Yes, I spent $13 on socks. I am ashamed to say it but I NEEDED them so don't judge peeps, don't judge. I am hand washing those and never wearing them again. hee hee

I can't remember what else I rode but I must have walked twice around the park, ate some lunch and then headed back to the hotel to get some rest before the evening activities. I ended up taking the boat back tot he Polynesian which was cool. I have a vlog up of the Polynesian resort here, in case you missed it the first time! I rested and then got ready to go back to Epcot for dinner and entertainment.

While the event at Epcot that night was great, it was hard to find anyone. They had closed off a huge part of the park from the Fountain near Innovations all the way to the lake. The tables were everywhere and since I had taken the bus alone, I was pretty much alone. But luckily, I am not a Debbie Downer so I found a great table near a heater and the bar and grabbed some tasty treats and beer and relaxed. I figured at some point I would see someone I knew.

While there, these two ladies who were not mom bloggers came by and asked if they could sit at my table since many were already taken. I said of course because that's how I roll. I am anti-social but nice about it. So they sat down and they realized I was with the Mom group and started asking questions and we chatted for a while. I ended up finding out they were with the Disney event staff. After a while 4 more people joined us and I actually had a great time. They were really nice and funny and I was able to joke around with them and ask questions. I swear if we ever move to Orlando, I would try to work for the Disney Event Department. How awesome would that be?

So the night went really well because it was nice to meet just random people and since they were fun and interesting it was fantastic. I had decided to leave because it was cold, I was full because I stuffed my gob with Asian food, soup and then some decadent brownie that was supposedly made by Chef Robert Irvine who was actually filming an episode of Dinner Impossible with the volunteers that were honored earlier on. The entertainment by the way was Demi Lovato and one of the Jonas brothers. I think Joe but who knows. It was okay but I think all the kids loved it.

On my way out with the Disney people, I saw Ana and Jeanette and decided to stop and say hello. Ultimately I stayed a lot longer than I had thought I would because they are such fantastic ladies and Ana's boys are delightful. Y'all know my "dislike" for children but I do like polite well-behaved kids and Ana's are just that. By the end of the night the little one was holding my hand as we headed off for the Monorail. What can I say? Kids like me.

So after a Democratic vote to decide if we should watch the fireworks or head over to the Soarin' ride there in Epcot, we headed over to Soarin' because they said I had to go on it. Now I freak out on these types of rides but I figured if a 4 year old can go on and not freak, I better put my big girl panties on and suck it up. So I did and it was such a fantastic adventure. OMG what an awesome ride it was!! I will definitely do it again if we ever go back to Disney World. After the ride we headed to the Monorail and back to the hotel to rest up for the next day.

Disclosure: I paid for my trip to the conference but we were also given exclusive stuff and a discounted rate on the rooms etc.

Disney Post on Hold

I know my tens of fans are dying to read my Disney post but I am really sick today. I caught a bad cold and I am coughing and wheezing to beat Jesus. I feel crummy and tired and am taking it easy. It's cold but thankfully not snowy but I am taking it easy today. In between naps and feeling crappy, I am working on the post and adding pictures but it is slow going. I might get Part one up tonight but maybe not.

Send help and drugs!!

Okay I will have a huge recap of my Disney trip this week. I have tons of stories and tons of pictures. I had a wonderful time and am so glad I got to go to this trip. It was fantastic. But then again, I am a Disneyphile so I think anything Disney is wonderful.

I woke up sick today with a scratchy throat and cough. It's just too many days of running around, not eating right and hours at airports and such! Luckily, I can do nothing all day. I slept in until 8am then the cats started scratching at my door. Boo!

So expect some posts this week but today I am relaxing and trying to decompress! And although we don't celebrate Valentine's since I believe it;s one of those holidays created to suck our money, I do wish those of you who do a Happy one!!! And when Tom sees this corny picture of us, he will die laughing!!

The Polynesian and much needed rest

Today was great. First breakfast with Guy Kawasaki and he talked about Twitter and other stuff. He rocked. I never even know who he was but now I know why people love him. But the creepiest thing is that he looks exactly like my ex-brother in law, Joji. It was freaky because I kept thinking it was Joji.

After that we went to a Volunteer recognition reception at Epcot. THen we had a few hours on our own. I hit the Magic Kingdom for a few hours then I pooped out so came back to the Poly for a little rest before dinner.

Here is a video of the hotel area.
