Sort of Wordless Wednesday - Tom's Tribute

It's been almost 2 weeks since we lost Shawn. Last Friday, we got her ashes back. Yes, we had her cremated. We still have not decided what to do with the ashes but we figured we could spread them around the house or in the garden. We have no idea but the idea of having her ashes makes us feel a little better.

In any case, last Friday I bawled when Tom brought the ashes home. Yes, I cry more than freaking John Boehner, sue me. This weekend sometime during the weekend I saw that Tom made his own tribute to our little Shawn. He placed some flowers on the mantle next to her ashes.

That was very sweet.

  13. That was so kind of him. My grandparents lost their beloved dog this week and it just made me realize even more how they become a part of our family.

  14. So sorry for your loss! For what it's worth I would totally have my pup creamated and brought home with me. My mom recently had to do it (her dog was sick) and she got a little necklace (i ordered this one: http://www.funeral-urn.com/silver-cremation-jewelry-Paw-Prints-On-My-Heart-pendant.aspx) and she is in LOVE with it and feels like her loved 4 legged friend is always with her in her heart!
