Food Heaven, Vegas Style!

One of the things we love doing when we hit Vegas is to go and have a great meal. And we do it up right. We seldom get any good food here in Sylva, NC. When we can get good food, we go for it. In Vegas, there are so many great places to eat that it is like we are kids in a candy store.

This trip we had two opportunities to have great meals. I chose to eat at Delmonico Steakhouse int he Venetian Hotel. We had gone there before and were never disappointed to we decided we would go there. Tom found the #1 restaurant on Trip Advisor was Roy's so we decided to go there and try somewhere new.

Delmonico's has the best service ever.

We started with some drinks. I had watermelon martinis and Tom had beer. The martini's were the bomb.

We started out with BBQ Shrimp

Tom had the Heirloom Tomato Salad and I had the best ever Wedge Salad with Bacon and Bleu Cheese!

Then we got creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes!! OMG I could eat the spinach by the barrel full!

Tom had a steak and I had a little of it because I wanted to have dessert and if I had ordered a whole steak myself, no dessert. Now I have to say that we were a little disappointed in the steak. It was not as good as usual. I think one of the problems is that I have learned how to cook one kick ass steak. I can cook any steak to temperature and with the seasoning I add, it can be served in any fancy shamancy restaurant. Yes, I am that good of a cook, if I do say so myself!

To end the meal, I ordered the Pecan Pie with homemade vanilla ice cream. OMG. It was so damn good! Even Tom, who never eats dessert, ate it. I had to slap him down because he was being a piggy! That was our Delmonico dinner.

The next day we went to Roy's. I knew it was Hawaiian food so we were all set for poi and tiki drinks but boy were we wrong! This place was high end and the food was some of the best we have ever had!

We started off with Mai Tai's and mojitos!

Then we had the best waiter ever, Kevin. He was so good! He was friendly and professional and just was the sweetest thing ever. He made our dining experience the best ever. Thank you Kevin!

Kevin suggested the appetizer boat for two. Luckily, we got this because it has Lobster pot stickers, tuna sushi, short ribs, spicy shrimp and chicken skewers. OMG the best thing ever. Every single piece of food was delicious. I even had the tuna sushi and I have never ever eaten raw tuna. I would eat it again. My favorite thing was the short ribs. Just heaven!

Next came our entrees. Tom had a fish entree that included 3 types of fish and white rice. He said it was delicious. Since I am not a seafood eater, I had the Filet Mignon with sour cream mashed potatoes and a wild mushroom sauce. OMG, it was divine.

By this time we were stuffed to the gills but I wanted dessert! I had the Molten Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. There are no words to describe how delicious this was. It was warm inside and, once again, I had to fight off Tom because he was getting all up in my dessert!

I have to say that this meal was one of the best experiences ever. From the service to the food, it was perfection. We had no idea what to expect and it was great. We would go back a zillion times.

So that is our Vegas meal experience. I wish we would have been able to go out and eat at more great restaurants. Of course, we would be broke but it would be worth it!
