I have to say that I love gambling. I really do. I think it's the anticipation of winning or just the bells and whistles that keep me entertained. I have no idea but we love it.
We arrived at the Flamingo Hotel and our room was not ready but we took another one just so we could settle in. The Flamingo is an old hotel and no great shakes. But we had a wonderful view of the Vegas Strip from the room. Plus, it was a free room so we couldn't complain.
We settled in and then Tom went to hit the poker room and I went to scope out the slot machines. I am slots girl and I am very picky about my slots. I played for a while, lost some and lost some more. The thing with Vegas is I take a certain amount of money and I have to make sure I stick to that amount. I usually do because you win and lose and win and lose.
The next day, Tom went to his conference and I was left to my own devices. I headed over to a smaller casino next door to the Flamingo called Bill's Gambling Hall and played for hours on the money I had. It was great.
Tom came back and we met up for dinner. We were headed over to the Venetian to one of our favorite places, Delmonico Steakhouse. I will post our meal on another post because I have some good yummy pictures.
The next day was more of the same. Breakfast, shopping, gambling, more gambling and then dinner. On Saturday night we went to Roy's for dinner because Tom had researched and saw it was rated as the #1 restaurant in Vegas on Trip Advisor. The rating was dead on. I will post pictures and stories on another post along with my Delmonico photos.
Then that was it. We headed back to the hotel and gambled more. We had a blast. On Sunday, we got up and packed and headed back to the airport. At the airport, I gambled more and doubled my money! Love that. Now, I still lost money but it was money I had planned on spending. You win some, you lose some.
We got back to Atlanta in the late afternoon and we had to drive 3 hours to get back home. It was a long long day. And that's it. That was our California/Nevada adventure. It was fun.I think we liked all three places we stayed at.
But I am glad we had a break before the winter comes to NC.
