My Thoughts on the End of the World

The Mayans contributed so much to this world. They discovered the zero value in mathematics. They were all about astronomy, farming and engineering. They also were proficient in art, painting, carving, weaving etc. They also had this calendar that said tomorrow we all die!

Okay, not cool Mayans but we all know sooner or later it has to come. Personally, I think the Mayans were wrong. I mean, let's be honest folks, we have been hearing the end of the world is coming for centuries and it hasn't happened.

I don't sweat the gigantic stuff like the world ending. I actually never think about it. I mean, if it does happen then it's a moot point, right?

I sweat the small stuff like will I ever get my Netflix disc of Dexter season 6, will Hillary run in 2016, will I finally get a stuffed Despicable Me minion as a Christmas gift, what sex is Kate and William's baby, should I color my hair red, when will Jennifer Aniston get married and what designer will she wear, who will be nominated for an Oscar, will Congress ever get their shit together and do something for this country. These are things I worry about.

So if the world ends tomorrow. I am saying my goodbyes today. Of course, very few people actually read my blog so the majority of people I know won't get their goodbyes unless I go tweet and Facebook them. Sigh.

  1. Hilarious, Carolyn! I'll be raising a glass to you tonight as I toast the end of the Mayan calendar (and not having to finish my holiday shopping!). Cheers/Salud!

  2. you just underscored the value of writing a short and funny post...completely contrary to my style, and I love it!!! You worry about all the right things! Hilary will run for sure! And eventually Sasha and Malia. Now, that's really what I can't wait to see!

  3. I read it. Did your package get there yet??? They said by Monday and here we are at Thursday.
