What I am Reading

Because my drive to work is about 45 minutes each way, I actually subscribe to an audiobook club. It's like Netflix for audiobooks. I get at least 2 books a month depending on how long each one.

Right now I am listening to The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. It is fantastic. I am a vampire freak and that's why I got this book. But it is so much different than what I thought it would be. I thought it would be a scary thriller but not so. It is more a DiVinci Code but the search is for Dracula. It is not scary at all but it is so good!!!

I am also reading Pancho Land on the Kindle on my phone. Pancho Land is written by my friend Raul Ramos y Sanchez. It is the third part of a trilogy. The first being America Libre and then House Divided.

It is really good and controversial. But it is so relevant to what is going on today and the immigration issues brought up especially during the election. But best of all it is a good read. I actually held a book tour for Raul a few years ago. You can see that post here.

I have to say that I love having a Kindle on my Droid. I thought I would never use it but I have read 3 books on it so far. It is great because I read books when I am waiting at the doctor's office or when eating lunch at work. Of course, it takes me months to finish any book but I do finish them.

Before The Historian I was listening to an audiobook called Contagious by Scott Sigler. I could not finish it. It was that bad. I suggest to stay far away from that book! I rarely find a book I hate. I hated this one. It was just so forced and ridiculous. I keep thinking, who talks like that? Then the author was actually reading the book and that made it worse.

Just a note that I took the images from It is the only place I buy books unless I am in an actual bookstore but that rarely happens anymore. I went to an e-reader and, although I love real books, I can never go back!
