What We Are Watching

The past week we have been watching some new series. This is what we are watching:

This is a British series based on the BBC. The Hour is a new TV program on the BBC in the 1950's. It is actually quite good. The characters and writing is great. The story line is interesting. There is a little history mixed in with the fictional characters. The acting is great. We will be getting the next season. 

OMG my favorite new series and favorite new character!! The Boss is about a fictional Mayor of Chicago and everything that entails. Kelsey Grammer is fantastic. I have never seen him better. Well, we did see in La Cage Aux Folles on Broadway and he was amazing. But this is so much better. Drama, intrigue, backstabbing, violence, betrayal and power are the main themes. I just love this series!!!!

This show is based in Miami right after Castro takes over Cuba in 1959. It is about a Miami Beach hotel owner who is trying to keep his hotel.  He gets involved with the mob and, of course, bad things happen. It's okay but not great. I like the fact that there are scenes in Miami. I miss Miami every so often so it's cool to see the scenery. There is intrigue, blackmail, murder etc. but we are passing on the next season of the show because by the end of Season 1, we didn't care. 

I like sharing what we are watching because maybe it might inspire you to check out some new series. These are shows I would have missed if we didn't have Netflix and a lot of time on our hands!
