32 years later!

I few weeks ago I shared a photo of my grade school friends with me at graduation. Well, when we were in Los Angeles, I met them for dinner. We picked up where we left off. We also had the opportunity to introduce our husbands to each other. We had a great time!

We are a little older but we look pretty good 32 years later!

Disney Social Media Moms Day 1!

On Thursday, my sister picked us up and we headed off to Anaheim to check into the Disneyland Hotel and the Disney Social Media Moms 2014 event. Luckily, when we arrived, we were able to check in immediately. Tom and my sister headed up to the room while I checked into the conference. It was great. There was a photo opp for an ESPN cover and also with Mickey. We also received a beautiful bag filled with goodies.

Once checked into the conference, I headed up to the room where we all unpacked and then headed out to the park before the reception at 6 pm and dinner at the Jamboree. We made a stop to get hats because it was warm. Then we went to the Disneyland Park and headed to Cafe Orleans where we ate ourselves silly. Tom had the gumbo and me and my sister had Monte Cristo sandwiches.

After lunch, we headed to the Haunted Mansion. I love this ride! Then we did a few more rides before heading back to the hotel room because the Disney Social Media Moms reception was being held that night.

The reception, hosted by Coppertone, was great. I saw some old friends and met some new friends. We also heard from Leanne Jakubowski, Director of Social Media; Michele Himmelburg, Director of Disneyland PR; and Michael Colglazier, Disney Resort President. The party featured appetizers, drinks and prizes. I didn't win a thing though. After the welcome reception, we all headed to the Disneyland Park for dinner with our families.

The TRYit! Dinner Experience that was sponsored by Disney Magic of Healthy Living at the Big Thunder Jamboree was great. There was music, games and lots of food. The food was so good. And the options were amazing. My sister who is a vegetarian was afraid she would not find anything she could eat. But I told her that Disney always takes everyone into account. After my FAM trip last year to DisneyWorld, I learned that the Disney always has vegetarian options. If you need vegan, gluten free or any other option, they will make it for you.

She enjoyed salad and vegetarian chili. Tom and I had ribs! YUMMO. I love that Disney has healthier options. There was a display of the healthier options available in the parks. There were cooking demos. The kids had games and face painting. It was a festive affair.

After dinner, we headed back to  the hotel to get some sleep for the coming day.

Disclosure: I  was invited to the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. I paid a conference fee but and received discounted and  complimentary items from as part of the conference. All opinions, as usual, are my own.

The Disneyland Hotel ~ Anaheim, California - Hotel Room Video! #disneysmmoms

During our trip to California, we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. I loved it. What I loved is the proximity to Downtown Disney. It is steps away! Here is my hotel room video!

Our room was fantastic. It had all the little details you expect from Disney. The tiles in the shower had hidden mickeys. The lamps in the vanity area were Mickey gloves. The pillows had Disney quotes. The headboard, when turned on, displayed fireworks and played music. To hear the music hit the volume on the Vine video.

The beds were comfy and the room clean. And the cleaning staff was great because they were on top of getting the rooms clean as soon as possible. The staff was friendly and helped with anything you needed.

I am a huge fan of staying on site when visiting any Disney property. It is the only way to go because you get perks such as early entrance into the parks, transportation and it is always magical.

My first day in Los Angeles!

I am going to write about every day of my trip and then add photos. It is the only way to tell the whole story without missing anything.

The first day we arrived in Los Angeles, my sister picked us up at the airport. Then we headed over to Eagle Rock where we had booked a hotel for the evening. But our first stop was Ernie Jr.'s taco house. Ernie's was a place I grew up with. I remember having dinner with family and friends. During high school it was the local haunt.

After lunch we headed over to the hotel which was no great shakes but it was only for one night so it was okay. After a nap, we headed off to see my mom who was staying with my cousins. We then headed out to Old Town Pasadena to have dinner. We ended up at Kabuki's, which was quite good. I had noodles, which I love.

Then we headed back to the hotel because the next day, it was off to Disney and the Disney Social Media Moms conference!

Stay tuned because there are at least 4 more posts coming. Then I will also have my adventures in Gatlinburg this weekend!

I know I have been slacking on getting my Disney posts up but I have had to work on my other blog and when that happens, this one suffers.

But I promise to get up our adventures and pictures next week. I have so many pictures. Not only do I have pictures from Disney but I have a few from Palm Springs and I will also have some from Gatlinburg as well.

We had a whale of a time at Disneyland! #disneysmmoms

When we were at the Disney Social Media Moms event, I decided we needed to recreate a picture of me and my sister in front of the whale at Disneyland. I am not sure when the first picture was taken but it looks like I was probably around 5 years old. So these pics are about 40 years apart.
