Cruising on the Cape Fear River!

The other day it was my friend's birthday. As part of her birthday weekend, Whitney invited us on a river cruise. We live in Wilmington and the Cape Fear River is one of the stunning features of this place.

The cruise was about a hour and it was wonderful. Here are some photos of our adventure!

A Tale of Two Joss'

We got Joss last June. He was a tiny baby who melted our hearts. Almost a year later, he has grown and he is not as sweet as thought. He is mischievous. He craves attention and he does a lot of bad things. We still love him though. Sigh.

The other day I saw him in his kitty condo and realized we are bad parents. He oozes out of the top now. We need to buy him something new but haven't. In the top photo there was plenty of space for him and his toys. In the bottom pic, he doesn't even fir any longer.

St. Maarten Vacation Photos

Our trip to St. Maarten was heavenly. It was so nice to have some time off from work. Every Christmas we love to go to a warm place to relax and unwind and we ended up in St. Maarten because we got a great deal. It was our first time there and it was nice.

Of course, when we go to resorts, we usually don't do much because it's nice just sitting around. This trip, however, we did take a day trip around the island. St. Maarten has a Dutch side and a French side. The beaches are nice but the island is small and it took us about 5 hours with stops to make it around.

The resort was nice and we spent our days at the pool and doing, basically, nothing. We did read, do water aerobics and ate. It is the usual things we do. We did play bingo every day and we won at "Name that TV Theme Song". It was fun and just what we needed. Here are some pics from the resort!
